Now that winter is officially here it’s a great time to focus on some small but effective ways to keep the body fit & healthy over these colder months! Here are a few things to help boost immunity, fitness & overall wellbeing over winter …. LEMON WATER: Start the day first thing with 1/2 a squeeze of lemon in a cup of warm water. This helps to hydrate, kick starts the metabolism & the Vitamin C will help to strengthen the Immunity which is key at the moment. Aim for at 8-10 glasses of water daily to flush toxins & to give you that extra glow.

VITAMIN D: This feel good vitamin gives you the goodness from the sunshine that we are often missing over the winter months, try sitting outside for even 5 mins daily, or look into taking a Vitamin D daily supplement.

GET ACTIVE: Even just 5 mins a day will help to boost the endorphins & will make you feel better both mentally & physically. Aim to do something active most days that you enjoy. WINTER VEGIES: Winter is a great for stocking up on the veggies & investing in some wholesome comfort cooking. Try to include as many varieties of veggies into your dinner meals as possible every night to boost your mineral, vitamin & fibre intake.

SELF CARE: Making the commitment to do even just one thing for yourself weekly that makes you feel good is beneficial. This could be something as simple as slowing down to sit & enjoy your morning coffee or treating yourself to a Pilates session - making some time to invest in your wellbeing is worthwhile.

REST DAY: It’s not always easy to get in extra sleep or more down time when life gets busy. Sometimes just choosing one day a week to do not much is all you need to help recharge & rejuvenate. This is also very important for muscle recovery, especially If you workout regularly. Aim for at least 1-2 recovery days.

GRATITUDE: To get the mind focused on more of the good things aim to write down just three things everyday that went well or that you are most grateful for. This is a simple but effective way to help uplift the mood, centre the mind & makes you feel good!
